"One example of where G2 has had quite a dramatic effect is pain management which is a trust wide specialty which is four consultants, one psychologist and one nurse-specialist and they had a fifty-three clinic backlog in August of last year when G2 went in. We put in an audio typist for a couple of weeks and she worked on the backlog. But since we put G2 in their letters are getting out to the patient and the GPs within forty-eight hours."
"Change management, we’ve had problems where people really don’t want to use it. We have had problems where people are coming up to us and are saying: Now here it is this and here it is that. But, you know, well we’ll go in and say give it a try. Yes, in the beginning it is really hard work and it can often slow the flow of the work through the department. But once the accuracy builds up then you are absolutely flying and it gives the secretaries more time to do things that are left on the backburner now and that are really quite high priority. But because they are reprioritizing throughout the whole day it gives them that chance to do a presentation for the consultant –if that is what he wants- to make sure that filing gets into the case notes, to make sure these notes get to the right place for the clinic whereas often now using an analog system things were left out of the notes. We were going back and forward between consultants, clinic rooms… G2 has changed all of that."
